Your exploration will begin by the beautiful Portuguese coastal town “Essaouira“; then descending towards the south deep to spend a night in the dunes of Chegaga. Afterwards, pass “Zagora” with its broad fascinate “Draa Oasis” to “Ouarzazate”, the movie city nicknamed as Hollywood of Africa. Day 1: Marrakech airport

Arrival at Marrakech Menara airport; greeting by your professional driver and immediate transfer to your hotel/riad.

Day 2: Marrakech-Full guided city tour

After you meet with your local knowledgeable guide; your journey starts by seeing the “koutoubia mosque“; visit the Saadian tombs and Bahia palace. After while, dive into the medina to discover its numerous secrets; including its huge maze of souks; breathtaking imperial architecture, and absorbing the atmosphere at “djemaa el Fna“; one of the world’s largest and busiest squares.

Ends your Marrakech city tour by visiting the Majorelle Gardens (optional visit); then back to your hotel at late in the afternoon.

Day 3: Marrakech-Essaouira

At 9:00 am, departure from your hotel; take the road west; towards “Essaouira“; through the city “Chichaoua” and “Ounagha“.
As you approach to the town of Ounagha, you will be greeted by the sight of trees filled with strange dark shapes. The dark shapes you’ll soon realize; are goats-they perch implausibly on the highest and most delicate-looking branches to get at the fruit of the Argan trees.
This oddity represents the first stage in a process that powers the economy of the region. After they pass through the goats; the fruits are reduced to a hard, indigestible core. This hard nut is taken cracked, crushed, and roasted to extract Argan oil, which can be used for everything from cooking to beauty treatments.
There are numerous cooperatives along the way; where dozens of women work to produce oils that are sold throughout Morocco and beyond.

Day 4: Essaouira-guided city tour

After breakfast, meet your guide at (10:00am); and start your exploration of the city “Essaouira“. Late afternoon, back to your accommodation for overnight.

Day 5: Essaouira to Taroudant

9:00 am, you will leave Essaouira, and heading towards Taroudant; through the city of Agadir which means “Wall” in Berber language.

Agadir is the capital of Morocco’s Souss-Massa-Draa region; and it is best known as a vacation hot spot where sprawling hotels; chic restaurants; and a suntan-guaranteeing; climate ensure it is always bustling with visitors. The city is also an important fishing port; which employs many of the local people and provides the country with much of its supply of sardines; one of the staple foods. A walk is highly recommended; stretch your legs alongside; and absorb the atmosphere of the crystal blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

Next you will drive for another 70 km east; straight to “Taroudant“: the city with its high and exceptionally thick crenelated ramparts walls topped by mighty; watchtowers make an imposing sight. Taroudant is no longer one of Morocco’s top-ranking cities; although it is still a major market town for the region. Once you get to your hotel; you might go for a walk, and exploring the city.

Day 6: Taroudant to Erg Chegaga

8:00 am, departure from your hotel; via Erg chegaga sand dunes; through the city “Taznakht” which is well known for its green, yellow, red and white, geometric-patterned carpets, which have been woven here since ancient times.

From here, you will be driving along the Anti Atlas Mountains to “Foum Zguid“; then venture for another 70 km through a sandy and stony track; passing by “Iriki“: a dried lake which was full of water; at least 70 years ago. It was home for a large numbers of birds; and some wild animals such as deer; desert foxes…

Getting to “Erg chegaga sand dunes” where you’ll be greeted by the Berber; put your luggage inside your nomadic tent; and then go for a ride on the camel, to watch the most beautiful sunset over the dunes. Overnight under nomadic tent; dinner and breakfast included.

After dinner, you will be invited around a big campfire, for relaxing, stargazing, while the nomads are playing on their drums.

Day 7: Erg Chegaga to Zagora

An early wake up is highly required to welcome the first sun rays; have your traditional breakfast, and then leave driving for about 50 km; on a rocky and sandy path to the next city M’hamid.

On the way, you might stop at the village “Tamgroute“; You will be accompanied by a local guide to discover the area; visit the Coran library; under ground passage; and workshops where traditional pottery has been made since very old times. From here, straight to “Zagora” where you will be rewarded with one of the prettiest towns in Southern Morocco; full of bright cerise bougainvilleas; pink oleander bushes and palm trees; overnight in a hotel or riad.

Day 8: Zagora to Tazentoute

Today you will leave Zagora; driving along the “Anti Atlas mountains” and the Morocco’s largest palm grove oasis “Draa valley“; decorated by huge number of small Berber villages built on the banks to “AGDZ“.

Further on, you will cross the mountains from an altitude reaching 1160 m to “Ouarzazate” the movie’s city; and often called “Hollywood of Africa“. Visit one of its oldest buildings; dating from the 18th century “Kasbah Taourirt” and the movie Museum. The area provides great opportunities for good walk and lovely pictures; you may also like to have lunch in one of the local restaurants overlooking the kasbah. Few kilometres further, there are movie studios where many films has been made.

After enjoying a nice time in the town; you will continue for another 20 km to the village “Tazentoute“; greeting by the Berber family with glass of tea. Shortly after, you will attend a traditional family “cooking class” with the help from the family and prepare your evening meal. If you are also interested in decorating your hands with henna; they will of course be happy to do so; overnight dinner and breakfast included.

Day 9: Tazentoute to Marrakech

Today after having a delicious breakfast; you will be able to go for a walk through the palm grove fields, and the former village. After that, drive straight to “Ait Ben haddou” one of the oldest and finest examples of a fortified city in the world; as a result it was declared by UNESCO a world heritage since 1987. The ksar is standing dramatically on a steep hillside overlooking the “Ounila valley”. Visit and then leave to Marrakech through the High atlas Mountains; crossing the highest Tichka pass 2260 m with stunning views over snow mountains peaks and remote Berber villages. Ends the journey within the “10 days-Marrakech desert tour” by a drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech Airport
