Day 1: Marrakech to AGDZ

we will pick you from your hotel/riad in Marrakech, and driving South East towards Ouarzazate, through some small Berber villages glued at the steep hillside of the high Atlas Mountains, reaching the highest pass(Tichka pass: 2260m) where you will be amazed by views over the snaked road and a lunar landscape.

From here, we will drive down hill, straight to the world heritage site of Ait Ben haddou which was an important trading post for merchants, on the former caravan route linking North Africa and Northern Morocco; it is also an ideal location for movie makers. Visit and have lunch in one of its restaurants overlooking the Kasbah.

Afternoon, we will cross Ouarzazate known as Hollywood of Africa because of many films were turned on site, possible to visit one of its oldest building dating from 18th century(Kasbah Taourirt).
From here, we continue our drive through the Anti Atlas mountains (Tinififte pass: 1660 m) known as volcanic mountains in the past, after you enjoyed a beautiful views over these incredible natural mountains, we drive down hills to reach the city of AGDZ where you will be greeted by morocco’s longest Draa valley (about 250 km of palm groves), overnight in a riad located in the middle of that oasis, diner & breakfast including.

Day 2: AGDZ to Erg chegaga

After breakfast, we will drive on the left bank, following the valley (Draa valley), through the ancient caravan route, pause at the village of Tamnougalt, visit and have cup of mint tea, continue passing through the other villages stretching along the way, join the normal road which takes us to Zagora, where we will be rewarded with one of the prettiest towns in Southern Morocco, full of bright cerise bougainvilleas, pink oleander bushes, and palm trees.

From here, we drive to the next small village (Tamgroute) where you will be guided, and exploring the area, by visiting the Coranic library, under ground passage, and the place where locals are making traditional pottery by hands.

After visit, we will head to the deep desert; we pause for a break at Oulad Driss village, and have lunch in one of its great hotels lying in the middle of sandy fields.
Next, we continue to M’hamid which ended this paved road, and drive for another (50km), through a sandy and stony track, which leads us to Erg chegaga sand dunes.
Once you’re there, you’ll be greeted by a glace of tea, put your luggage inside your nomadic tent, and then go for a ride on the camel, to watch the most beautiful sunset on one of the highest sand dunes. At night your diner will be served outside, under a million stars, while you are setting around a big campfire and celebrating your memorable Morocco new year Eve, following with the Berber music and song, overnight in your private nomadic tent.

Day 3: Erg chegaga to Marrakech

Your journey will start by an early wake up, to watch the amazing sunrise on one of its dunes, have breakfast, meet your driver and leave your camp by driving along the dunes, until we reach the Iriki: a dried lake which was full of water in the past (about 60 years ago), it was home for a large numbers of birds, and some wild animals such as: deer, desert foxes.
We will continue driving on a rocky path until we get to the town of Foum Zguid (almost 80km from where we started).

We pause here for a break, and then keep driving along the Anti Atlas Mountains, passing through several small Berber villages following the valley.
We will arrive at the next small city of Taznakht, which is famous for its green, yellow, red and white, geometric-patterned carpets, which have been woven here since ancient times. We pause here for a break, and have lunch in one of its local restaurants; then drive straight towards Marrakech, through the high Atlas Mountains (same as we crossed first day).

Late afternoon, get to Marrakech where you will be dropped off at your Hotel / Riad or at the nearest point next to your accommodation.

• Jean for Camel ride(shorts & skirts are not recommended, as the camel saddles are itchy and it can cause skin irritation.
• Camera-phone charger.
• Warm cloths in winter months
